Studio Six Art Conservation was founded by
Brad Ford Smith in 2006. Studio Six Art Conservation provides professional, personalized  and ethical art conservation services to private collectors, small museums, and historical societies across Texas.

Studio Six Art Conservation follows the American Institute of Conservation’s strict codes of ethics and standards of practice. Brad Ford Smith has been a Professional Associate of AIC for over ten years. 

Studio Six Art Conservation's primarily focused is on the conservation of historic objects such as furniture, household artifacts, decorative arts and items of an ethnographic nature. Specializing in the treatment of objects composed of wood or organic materials such as ivory, jade, lacquer, boulle, tortoise and mother of pearl.

This lacquer case for a Japanese bronze hand mirror was sprayed on by a dog, then left out in the rain. Studio Six cleaned the surface, polished out the damage, and reconstructed the handle. In the photo above the lacquer case is half cleaned.
